Xbox's new controller is going greener and even looks it. Xbox has just announced the new Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition, which consists of one third recovered plastics and reclaimed materials. Yes, "reclaimed materials" means that old controllers are recycled, among other things. But let's take a closer look at the whole thing.

Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition For Sustainability

As mentioned, the big point here is that recycled plastic is used for the controller. However, Microsoft does not stop there. In terms of environmental friendliness, the controller also comes with a rechargeable Xbox battery and corresponding charging cable. This may not sound very exciting at first, but until now, the battery had to be purchased separately or in a bundle and was not included as standard.

The design of the new controller also fits the motto. The two main colors are green and brown, very earthy, and the pattern of the back-case and bumpers is reminiscent of the patterning of wood. Here you can see a few pictures:

Of course, no compromises have to be made in terms of features. The new controller has the same buttons and features that we are used to from the Xbox Series Controller. Only the texture on the back-case and bumpers has been replaced by the chic wood pattern.

The Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition will be available from April 18, 2023 and can already be pre-ordered from the Microsoft Store for $84.99.

With the new Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition, Microsoft wants to ensure more sustainability and give gamers the opportunity to reduce the impact on the environment even while gaming. In our opinion, this is a cool idea and we like the design very much.
