In the latest Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay reveal, we got to take a look at some of Link's new abilities. A new feature to rewind time has found its way into TotK.
Recently, we finally got to see some Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay. In over 10 minutes, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma showed us some of Link's new abilities and gameplay features, which are entirely new to the Zelda franchise. Tears of the Kingdom is going to bring crafting to a whole new level and has already topped the features that made Breath of the Wild so successful.
But one of Link's new abilities has stuck in our heads because it could offer so many new possibilities in terms of combat and the way Link will travel through the vastness of Hyrule.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Lets You Rewind Time
As shown in Nintendo's 10-minute gameplay reveal, Link has a new ability that allows him to move an object back in time. Eiji Aonuma demonstrated this feature by using a boulder to get on top of one of the sky islands in Tears of the Kingdom. Here is how it works:
In the gameplay video, we saw a boulder falling down from one of the sky islands. After finding the location of where the rock fell down, Link can use the “Recall” ability to rewind the object's movement in time. That way, Link can send the fallen boulder back to the top and use it as an elevator to the sky islands.
We need to play this game as soon as possible. Make sure to pre-order Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Amazon , so that it gets to you on time.
Although we have only seen Link use this ability on objects like rocks, that doesn't rule out the possibility that it could also work on certain enemy types. Just imagine the ways how this could change combat. Even if we can't rewind the movement of a living enemy, what if we just rewind the movement of their weapon? This feature could be a real life savior in dicey situations, and we're all here for it.
Another captivating aspect of Link's ability to rewind time is its origin and its role in the game's storyline. After the events of Breath of the Wild, we know little about Link's development and where he acquired these new skills. In the previous game, he used the power of runes aided by a Sheikah Slate, which he no longer possesses.
However, it appears that these new abilities, such as the power to ascend through ceilings, are innate or connected to the luminous green energy that comes from his arm.
