Death Must Die Update 0.6.78 Introduces Snowswatch Christmas Event

A Christmas special just started in Death Must Die, called Snowswatch. But the developers gave no info on what it is, so we’ll explain it for you.

Death Must Die got update 0.6.78 on December 22. The most exciting thing about it is the introduction of a Christmas event called Snowswatch. However, developer Realm Archive have, for some reason, given literally zero explanation on what this event is. Whoopsie!

Death Must Die Christmas Special Snowswatch Is Here

The patch notes literally only include two sentences: “Snowswatch is Here! Happy holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone!”

Not much to work with here. But, we’re happy to report that this update is really sweet. And proper Christmassy. The biggest change will be noticed quite quickly by players, as you will be immediately greeted by a giant Christmas tree when entering the game.

The tree is of course not only decorative. Talk to the nearby Snowsfather and you can get five presents from under the tree. Each present contains a unique item, one per class:

  • Snowswatch Socks (Knight only)
  • The Snowfather’s Infinite Ale (Barbarian only)
  • Snowswatch Hat (Assassin only)
  • Snowswatch Shawl (Warrior only)
  • Snowswatch Candy Cane (Sorceress only)

These items are all pretty nice, especially if you aren’t super far in Death Must Die yet. But that’s not all! As one last Christmas present, we got a cute reskin for the enemies in-game. Yes, they’re wearing Santa hats now.

Seeing a Skeleton with a Santa hat is exactly my kind of Christmas vibe, so I’m all for this cute little change. There are some more decorative changes to Death Must Die, like light snow in the map, especially the trees. It’s a cute little update and a nice sign from the developers, just in time for the joyous Christmas season.
