Everyone is waiting for the big Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. After the announcement last year, it’s been only radio silence on the much-anticipated expansion. Now, a new update to the game’s Steam entry is firing up hope again.

Elden Ring DLC: New Steam Info Gets Fans Excited Again For Upcoming Release

As was noted by Twitter user Ziostorm, a new Elden Ring DLC file has been added to the game’s entry in the Steam database. According to the known FromSoftware community member, this is the first time that new DLC files have been added to the game since launch, which you can also see on steamdb.

As you can see there, a new DLC entry has been added on January 10. The last entry’s are from the game’s launch around two years ago and include pre-order bonuses, an art book and similar goodies. These new files are very likely Shadow of the Erdtree, or something related to it.

Concrete details on these new files haven’t been extracted yet, so we don't know the file size or what it's named. So it's not 100% confirmed yet, that it is indeed Shadow of the Erdtree.

However, it would be strange for FromSoftware to add any other DLC for Elden Ring, as only this one expansion has been announced so far.

Neither developer FromSoftware nor publisher Bandai Namco have commented on this situation so far. However, we expect an official announcement, and maybe even the full-release of the Elden Ring DLC, very soon. For a while now, fans have speculated that Shadow of the Erdtree could release on, or around, February 25, which would be the game’s two-year-anniversary.
