The LPL is one of the biggest esports leagues in the world. With 18 teams and potentially even more in 2024, it's got a huge following. Throughout the last few years, and through the success of multiple LPL teams on an international level, interest in it has also grown internationally.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the LPL broadcast was moved offline, with casters casting the games from their homes, bringing fans all the action in English, with even interviews getting translated for international viewers. All this might stop in 2024 though.

LoL: Streamer Wants To Put On LPL English Broadcast

There have been rumors around that there is not going to be on official English broadcast for the LPL in 2024. Former League of Legends and Overwatch League caster, Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles revealed this on November 19 over Twitter.

He did add on that the Stryker facility in Dublin should be the new home of the LPL English broadcast, but that it seems highly unlikely to be finished and ready for action before MSI 2024. This would mean that there is not going to be any official English broadcast throughout the LPL Spring Split.

When Was The LPL Established?

The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) was first established in 2013. It is the top professional league for League of Legends in China and has become one of the premier esports leagues in the world.

There are some people though who are ready to fight for the LPL and its international fan base. Former League of Legends pro and streamer Christian "IWDominate" Rivera has announced on Twitter that he is willing to even pay for casters and production to have uninterrupted broadcasts of the LPL in English.

No matter what, an LPL English broadcast will exist on twitch. If I need to pay casters/production myself to make it happen so be it. I've dedicated so much time to the LPL and I love that league way too much to see it disappear for English speaking fans.

IWDominate has been a huge fan of the LPL and been co-streaming games for a long time, so it makes sense that he will advocate for a continuous broadcast as a fan of the league.

So, it seems that even if there is no official broadcast in Spring 2024, there are passionate people who just love the LPL and want to share the highlight-reel gameplay with the rest of the world. Hopefully there can be some compromise and that fans of the LPL get to enjoy the Spring Split in English as well.
