Phreak has had enough and is going to be leaving social media, which could mean League of Legends players receive less information on balance decisions.
The League of Legends game dev, David "Phreak" Turley has been embroiled in controversy the last few weeks. The community has not been happy with specific changes to communication within League of Legends and some insensitive comments from Phreak set them off on an angry tirade.
This onslaught of anger manifested in messages, including death threats towards the former League of Legends caster which has now prompted him to reveal that he is going to be taking a break from social media for the time being.
LoL: Phreak To Take Break From Social Media After Constant Death Threats
The fact the League of Legends is a game seems to be something a lot of people forget, especially when they are unhappy and angry with the current state of said game. This prompts them to send angry messages towards game devs, which in turn causes the communication between devs and players to worsen.
Phreak, while not being perfect, has been one of the most transparent people on the League of Legends balance team, taking time to make in-depth videos on League of Legends patches and explaining certain balance choices on Reddit and Twitter.
This is going to be changing though it seems, with Phreak revealing in one of his videos that he will be taking a break from social media, due to the immense amounts of hate he's been getting, especially after the 'type Karthus ult' statement he made.
While some funny copy-pasta's have come out of this, there has also been a huge backlash from the community towards Phreak, with him receiving hate messages and even death threats. So it's no surprise that he will be taking a break from social media, right?
