Arena is coming back again soon, but before then we will also be playing some other older beloved game modes again that we missed in 2023.
Arena is one of the most popular game modes to have come to League of Legends in recent times. It was a huge hit and throughout the Winterblessed event, the modes team got to make some more key adjustments. Well, it's coming back again in 2024, with new twists and improvements.
There are other game modes Riot has as well though which will make an appearance very soon, so are you ready for all these updates and fun new ways to experience League of Legends?
LoL: Arena Return Announced
Arena isn't even over, and yet it's already making a return? So fast! Later this year, Arena will be coming back, as announced by Riot in their LoL Season 14 start video. Not only that, but the game mode will be getting new augments and some other new features which are sure to make everyone froth at the mouth.
Playing with eight people in one lobby was fun, but sometimes it got stale pretty quick, which is why Riot is going to be opening up the lobbies to 16-players, meaning 8 teams of 2, instead of just 4 teams of 2. This will mean more variance in the games itself.
Balance will also be a key thing the modes team is looking out for, since they want to have as much champion variance as possible in the game mode.
Old Favorites Return
Not only is Arena coming back, but Ultra-Rapid-Fire (URF) is also going to be coming back to League of Legends again. This is going to be the next rotating game mode in the Legaue of Legends client, with it being part of the Lunar New Year celebration, which should kick off in LoL Patch 14.3.
After URF we are also going to be playing One For All again. This is my personal favorite game mode just because of how weird it can get to have both teams pick Shaco and then there are 20 Shacos all over the map running around. The confusion is real, but it's so messy and fun.
LoL: New Game Mode Coming Late In 2024
Not only is Arena returning and we're going to be getting some older rotating game modes back, but it was also revealed that Riot is working on a brand-new game mode that will be much more chill than Arena, but also let players experience the game completely differently from before.
I doubt it'll be a PvE mode, but it should be something inclusive to play with your friends. Unfortunately, not much else was said, but we should find out more halfway through the year about this new upcoming Game Mode. It could be related to Arcane somehow...?
