Faker is the League of Legends players with the most wins under his belt, both internationally and domestically. With such a stellar track record and even winning his fourth Worlds in his 10-year debut anniversary is just insane.

So, of course, some people are wondering whether it's time for Faker to retire, especially after he had to sit out a whole month due to a wrist injury earlier this year.

LoL Worlds 2023: "I Am Contracted" - Faker Not Ready To Retire

After winning his fourth World Championship, Faker and the rest of T1 went to their press conference, where they were asked about their future and the potential champions they would want for their commemorative Worlds skin.

When asked about retirement and whether Faker is sticking around, he gave a simple and pragmatic answer, "I am contracted. I will be continuing to work at T1. I have been learning and growing a lot through my career as a pro player, it's a rare opportunity for a human being. I will say, I will continue to play. Retirement plans will come later."

So, for anyone thinking Faker is leaving to go to the military – which is now exempt from thanks to his win at the 2022 Asian Games with South Korea – or he is going to sit back and become a coach or content creator, you are likely very wrong.

Earlier on in the tournament, Faker also revealed that he continues to learn as he plays the game, which goes to show just how serious he still is and how hungry he is to improve and grow as a player.

Faker is still under contract with T1 until 2025, so we will at least see him for two more years in a T1 jersey.

Oner, is still under contract until 2024, while the rest of the team will become free agents later this month. It'll be interesting to see what T1 does and where the players will go.
