During an interview, Creative Director Bryan Intihar teases Spider-Man 3 and how epic this franchise could become. Taking direct references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
With the release of Spider-Man 2 Isomniac Games delivered a worthy Game of the Year contender. But this won't stop the team to look into the future and how Spider-Man 3 could turn things up, a notch for the universe of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
With the latest Spider-Man entry, the devs granted the community and the franchise alike almost endless possibilities how Spider-Man 3 could work out.
Spider-Man 3: Creative Director Takes References Of The MCU
During the interview, Intihar made an interesting statement:
I think, if Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was our Iron Man, and Spider-Man 2 was like Civil War…where logically do we go from there? I think it’d be pretty epic.
This comparison suggest that the first Spider-Man games were just the start of something bigger, leading to a lot of different ways the third installment could play out. Especially if Spider-Man 2 was like Civil War, as the movie was the beginning of a lot of different catastrophic events that should shape the future.

It's clear as day Intihar is shooting for the stars, but Spider-Man is one of the most popular franchises, and it wouldn't surprise if the team is already thinking of how they could approach Spider-Man 3.
But with so many different ongoing projects at Insomniac Games like Marvel Wolverine, a new multiplayer, and probably also a new Ratchet & Clank game, it will definitely take some time until the team will confirm anything at all.
In the end, with great power, there must also come great responsibility, right?
