A reliable Capcom insider has hinted at Monster Hunter World 2 being revealed very soon.
Capcom has been on a golden run for several years, with 2018’s Monster Hunter: World being one of the first catalysts for the company’s incredibly successful period of releases. With over 19 million copies sold, World is still Capcom’s most-successful game of all time.
After five long years, fans are very eager to finally get their hands on Monster Hunter: World 2, which still hasn’t been announced. Of course, we got Monster Hunter: Rise in 2021, but that was a bit of a different beast. And yes, both got expansions a year later respectively. But, gamers are insatiable, and fans are waiting for a game that is a clear sequel to World. Now it looks like the game could finally be revealed as soon as December.
Monster Hunter World 2 Could Be Announced In December
Reliable insider Dusk Golem, who has accurately leaked many Capcom-related details in the past, revealed that a “big Capcom game” will be announced in “late 2023” and released in 2024. While they didn’t say what game this is, they specified that “it is not a Resident Evil game”.
Well, what else has Capcom left? Exactly, nothing except for Monster Hunter. Since it’s been five years since World, and over two years since Rise, it would be high time for a new mainline game in the series.
While Capcom could have a surprise up their sleeve, considering Dusk Golem’s specifications that it’s a big game that’s not Resident Evil, it seems unlikely that it would be something like a new Dead Rising game or even a brand-new franchise.

As for when to expect this mysterious Capcom announcement, it seems likely that it will feature at The Game Awards on December 7. Capcom sometimes do their own streams (the Dragon’s Dogma 2 release date is likely to be revealed in a stream focused on that game), but their big announcements are usually reserved for huge shows like The Game Awards.
