New title format, but the same story : Final Destination 6 plot leaks reveal who is on Death's list and why. Spoiler: It's not as surprising as we had wished for, even though there is a new twist.
From the beginning, the Final Destination movies have always revolved around avoiding deadly accidents due to a death curse, creating lots of irrational fears in the minds of millennials, such as the infamous logging truck on highways. In every movie, a group of teenagers or young adults try to cheat their way out of their deathly fate, after they managed to escape a horrendous tragedy that should have killed them.
A few months ago, it was announced that the seemingly concluded horror movie series would receive a sixth installment, with the production starting after the resolution of the strikes involving screenwriters and actors.
Leakers Reveal The Plot Of Final Destination 6 And It's Not That Innovative
Entertainment industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed what the new movie is about and that it will be titled Final Destination: Bloodlines. In the movie, the story of 18-year-old Stephanie and her family's heritage will be told. Here's the synopsis:
Stefanie, who's been having horrific nightmares about dying in a tower accident in the 1960s, discovers that her dream is actually a premonition that happened to her grandmother, Esther. She learns that though her grandmother thwarted Death (until she died in her 80s), Death has been going after the would-have-been victims of that long-ago catastrophe, killing them off and then going after their children. Stefanie and her family realize that their bloodline isn't safe from Death, who will take them violently and gruesomely, in order, unless someone like Stefanie figures out a way to stop it.
While the concept of the inheritable death curse may seem fresh, the leaked information suggests that the tropes and types of characters are disappointingly familiar. Once again, we can anticipate a group of young individuals conforming to classic horror movie clichés: A smart and grounded female lead, her moody little brother, a football linebacker, an edgy tattooed guy and a bougie tomboy.
This is particularly sobering, as there were already rumors suggesting that this reboot would focus on first responders this time, which would have given us another perspective from people that are familiar with life-threatening situations.
So, we don't expect too much new, but are confident that we'll see some creative and dumb ways to die again. But, who knows? Maybe the depth will surprise us in the end, and another beloved horror franchise will be brought back to life.
