Succession's Brian Cox Retelling The Tekken Story Is The Best Thing You'll See This Year

Ahead of the Tekken 8 release, Brian Cox, known as Logan Roy from Succession, has been hired to give a story recap of the series and the result is incredible.

PR stunts and advertisements are often wonderfully random, but I’m sure Brian Cox (aka Logan Roy from Succession) retelling the story of the Tekken franchise was on nobody’s bingo card. But that’s exactly what happened, and it’s absolutely wonderful to watch.

Tekken 8 Story Recap Narrated By Brian Cox Is My New Favorite Thing

In the five-minute-long video, Cox retells the story of the Tekken franchise, answering such important questions as “What the hell is a devil gene?” and “Why do these fathers and sons keep throwing each other off cliffs?”.

The men in question are Heihachi Mishima, his son Kazuya Mishima and his son Jin Kazama. And Cox pronounces these names “better than 90% of streamers and commentators”, as one YouTube comment puts it.

While this collab seems completely random, and will feel like a strange fever dream while watching the video for the first time. It oddly makes sense. The 30-year-old story of Tekken revolves around patricide, complex family dynamics and questions of heritage, so getting Logan Roy to tell this story is actually a great fit.

If you want to know absolutely everything about the Tekken story, you should probably go somewhere else, as Mr. Cox mostly focuses on the first two games and gives us more of a gist. If you’re new to the franchise or just need a general refresher, it’s absolutely worth watching for that. And of course you should watch it either way because it’s absolutely hilarious.
