Koroks Will Be Much More Important In Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – No More Endless Seed Hunting?

Nintendo's gameplay reveal for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has some hidden details about the game that you'll only notice on second sight. It seems like the endless hunt for Korok Seeds will finally come to an end.

Just recently, Nintendo published a 10-minute gameplay reveal for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. We got so see new game mechanics and some of Links abilities, but what most of you haven't seen were the little hints hidden in this video. After rewatching it several times we spotted some interesting hints on Koroks and their role in the upcoming Zelda title.

It looks like they won't merely end up being 900 little puzzles on the map as they were in Breath of the Wild , but may even have a deeper purpose, such as giving us quests.

Koroks Become Quest Givers In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

While Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma demonstrated some Tears of the Kingdom gameplay to us, we have spotted a Korok that was carrying a big backpack. This little friend gave us an important hint about the role of Koroks in Tears of the Kingdom.

(You will be able so see him shortly after the beginning of Nintendo's gameplay reveal at minute 1:20)

In Breath of the Wild, Koroks could be found like sprinkles across Hyrule. They would reveal themselves after solving a little puzzle, and then reward you with a Korok seed, an item that can be traded for more storage in your bow, shield, or weapon stash. In BOTW, we were able to find 900 Koroks in total, but who actually did that honestly?

In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Anything Is Possible If You Just Think About It

As it seems from the gameplay reveal, Koroks are now wandering freely through Hyrule. Lucky us, because I think nobody is ready to hunt down another 900 of these little beasts... Now there is one question: What other role would they play in Tears of the Kingdom?

The video showed a Korok with a speech bubble that said, "I need to reach my friend". Sounds like it needs Link's help. The Koroks in Tears of the Kingdom could function similarly to the people you sometimes encounter in Breath of the Wild. The ones who require help because they've been targeted by Bokoblins or other creatures.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Lets You Rewind Time

But just how cute would it be if we received little quests from Koroks that require our help with something? At this point, anything is better than having to lift hundreds of stones in order to be rewarded with a golden piece of poo.

This is all just speculation and in no way confirmed by Nintendo. I guess all we can do now is wait until TOTK comes out and see it for ourselves. Maybe Nintendo reveals some more details at the upcoming Nintendo Direct in April. I really can't wait to play this game, which is why I pre-ordered it on Amazon , I wouldn't dare to wait one more day after it releases.
