Vernworth in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a huge and complex city and finding anything in there is a tough ask. Especially as the game's performance issues are at their worst here. This difficulty of course extends to looking for a missing person, as you’re asked to do in the quest called The Heel of History.

You unlock this quest by going to the Gracious Hand church in the Vernworth slums. You will find the priest Kendrick in front of it. Give the priest two donations, either in food or money, and he will give you the quest. Young Malcolm has gone missing, and the priest asks you to find him.

Malcolm is in the tower ruins, right next to the church. However, going there you will notice that the entrance to the ruins is blocked. To gain entry, you need to talk to a girl called Aimee, who is located in or around the church. I did this quest at night and found her right outside the building, but she can potentially be inside the church or somewhere else within the quest area depending on the time of day and her behavior.

Aimee was supposed to explore some kind of vault with Malcolm, but the eager young man went ahead without her. After hearing this, you can inform priest Kendrick and he will clear the entrance to the ruins for you.

Tip

While in the underground vault, make sure to keep an eye out for a Seeker's Token hidden in the dungeon!

You can now go down into the dungeon. Thankfully, there are no enemies here (just some spiders that will ignore you) and the dungeon is not huge. You will find Malcolm in front of an underground library in one end of the dungeon. Speak to him, and you will have completed The Heel of History. Congratulations!
