In Dragon's Dogma 2, there are battles, and then there are battles at night. Just because you can kill an ogre with ease at noon, after a nice bit of sleep and a tasty steak, does not mean you are capable of the creatures that lurk at night.

This is something that some unsuspecting players have had to find out the hard way.

PSA: When they say don't go out at night. DON'T.

And yes, this is no coincidence; not only is the night pitch black (always bring enough lantern oil!), but enemies spawn more often and in different, more powerful forms.

Not even staying on the roads will keep you safe. Phantoms, skeletons, zombies and other undead fiends will find you wherever you go.

How To Survive The Nighttime In Dragon's Dogma 2

So you should really, really avoid wandering at night. As soon as you see the sun go down, you should look for the nearest fire spot to make camp and clear out any enemies in the area. If you neglect that, they might attack you while you're trying to get a good night's rest.

Once the night has come, there is no going back. And that's just one of the reasons why you should always bring camping gear with you. Read more in our beginner's guide for Dragon's Dogma 2.
