Time has really been flying by lately, and we're almost reached version 2.1 in Honkai Star Rail! Not only does this upcoming update mark the one-year anniversary for our favorite HoYoverse title, it also brings us one of the coolest character the game has to offer: Acheron! If you plan on pulling for this badass Galaxy Ranger, you should stick around for the following guide!
The Honkai Star Rail version 2.1 is basically waiting around the corner, and I bet everyone is at least as excited as I am for the next upcoming character: Raiden Mei! — Wrong game, you say? Oh, I mean Acheron of course!
It really is getting a little confusing …
This Galaxy Ranger lady looks to be one of the most hyped units in the entire Star Rail universe and of course, many players will try to pull her for their accounts! If you are one of them, check out this guide in order to know how to build Acheron the right way!
Honkai Star Rail Acheron Build: Best Light Cones & Team Comp
Acheron is a wanderer who professes to be a Galaxy Ranger. However, her real identity stays shrouded in mystery. She roams the universe solo, her only companion being a lengthy sword.
“Lone voyagers in the cosmos are driven by two desires: to tread in the trails of the past, and to forge their own way.” — Acheron
Despite her distant and reserved demeanor, her blade moves with the speed of a lightning strike. Intriguingly, she chooses to wield her scabbard in combat, never unsheathing the sword itself.

Although the Penacony story has already given us some insight into Acheron, it's not yet clear what her real goals are and whether she might even be an enemy! Hopefully the 2.1 will reveal more of her true intentions …
Acheron's Build
In order to build your Acheron to be as strong as possible, you should aim to give her a completed 4-piece set together with a fitting 2-piece one. If there is no other way, you can also start off with three 2-piece sets instead.
Acheron herself works a little different from other main DPS units that we know so far, since her ultimate ability does not need to charge up with energy! Instead, you can get stacks and enter an ultimate stance. This makes her quite easy to build, since she does not need any Energy Regeneration! Next to that, her damage scales off of debuffs, which definitely shows in her optimal build!
Set Combination #1
This is by far her best set, and you are basically trolling if you are not farming it for your Acheron:
- 4-piece: Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
- 2-piece: Inert Salsotto
Set Combination #2
Especially if you are just starting to farm your Acheron Relics, this option could work out for you as well:
- 2-piece: Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
- 2-piece: Musketeer of Wild Wheat / Band of Sizzling Thunder
- 2-piece: Inert Salsotto
There are many 2-piece options that Acheron can use, however, if you plan on making her your main DPS queen, farm her 4-piece set in order to make her as string as possible!
Acheron's Best Stats
The right (sub)stats are just as important as the correct set! Let's take a look at what our favorite Galaxy Ranger wants to have on her Relics:
- Body: Crit RATE / (Crit DMG at E1)
- Boots: ATK% / SPD (preferably from SPD support units)
- Planar Sphere: Elemental DMG (Lightning)
- Link Rope: ATK%
- Overall Prio: Crit RATE (75%) / DMG (170% +)→ ATK% → SPD
Building Acheron is actually quite easy, as long as you try to avoid most defensive stats and Energy Regeneration!
Acheron's Light Cones
At this point of this guide, I have some unfortunate news for free-to-play players: Acheron requires her signature Light Cone.
Well, of course, you can give her other options as well, however Acheron is a Nihility character that does need crit stats, which is pretty much new to this path. All other Nihility characters, so far, tried to get as much Effect Hat Rate as possible to apply their DoTs. Acheron's kit, however, feels much more like a Hunt character, which makes it hard to find a good F2P weapon for her.
Let's take a look at her signature first:
1. Along the Passing Shore
Along the Passing Shore is by far Acheron's best Light Cone and if you saved up enough Stellar Jade, I would recommend pulling it! This character — Light Cone synergy, is one of the most powerful ones in the entire game!
Along the Passing Shore has the following effect:
- Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 36%. When the wearer hits the enemy target, inflicts Empty Bubbles on the enemy, lasting for 1 turn. This effect can be triggered 1 time against each target for every attack the wearer launches. The wearer deals 24% more DMG to targets afflicted with Empty Bubbles, and DMG from the wearer's Ultimate additionally increases by 24%. (S1)
As I mentioned earlier, if you want to main Acheron, you should definitely try to get her Light Cones! It is insanely powerful, especially for this very character.
2. Good Night and Sleep Well
As sad as it may sound: “Good Night and Sleep Well” is the only 4-Star Nihility Light Cone that is actually usable on Acheron. All the other ones have too many useless stats, such as Effect Hit Rate, or just don't work with her kit.
Good Night and Sleep Well has the following effect:
- For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12%, stacking up to 3 time(s). This effect also applies to DoT. (S1)
3. In the Name of the World
Last, but not entirely least, we have Welt's signature Light Cone. If you happen to get it at some point, you can certainly use it on Acheron since it increases DMG against debuffed enemies. Is it worth getting this 5-Star weapon from the shop to use it on Acheron? — No, not really …
In the Name of the World has the following effect:
- Increases the wearer's DMG to debuffed enemies by 24%. When the wearer uses their Skill, the Effect Hit Rate for this attack increases by 18%, and ATK increases by 24%. (S1)
All in all, HoYoverse really did a dirty move in making Acheron a Nihility character, since her kit basically screams Hunt or Erudition and to be fair, every Hunt Light Cone would fit her so perfectly!
Acheron Team Comps
To bring this guide to an end, let's take a closer look at some possible team comps for Acheron! We're going to have one, for the big spenders, and one for free-to-play people as well!
Acheron Whale Team
This team requires having a E2 Acheron, which is much harder to obtain, especially if you are free-to-play. With that Eidolon, you are much more flexible in potential teammates for her, since you only need one extra Nihility character besides Acheron herself.
One pretty solid choice will always be Pela. She is super strong, a 4-Star and most importantly, skill point positive! Next to her, Sparkle is an incredible support for Acheron to provide her with enough SPD! Last but not least, we require a sustain unit and Gepard does still make up for a great tank in this team. Alternatively, you can also use Fu Xuan if you have her!
Acheron F2P Team
This version does not require you to have any Eidolons for Acheron, which is why we now need three Nihility units!
Again, Pela is just absolutely amazing in this team, and I am pretty sure Pela is generally speaking the most broken unit in the entire Star Rail universe. (Yes, I said it.) Next to her, we can find another Nihility unit. Welt is a good potion, since he provides some additional DPS to the team. If you happen to have Silver Wolf, she can fit here as well.
The last spot takes our newest addition, Gallagher. Since he will be on Acheron's banner, and you will get some copies of him while pulling for the purple lady anyway, it just makes sense to use him as the sustain unit for this team.
And this wraps up our guide for Acheron! The last thing that needs to be done now, is actually pulling her… We wish all of you the best of luck with your wishes!
