Our Wuthering Waves Echoes guide explains what Echoes are, how to get them, the different Echo Classes, main and sub stats they offer and much more.
Echoes are one of the key systems in Wuthering Waves, influencing the gameplay and progression of your characters, aka Resonators.
Since Echoes will be playing a significant role in powering up your characters in Wuthering Waves, we have prepared a detailed guide on Echoes talking about how you can get them, how they work, the different Echo Classes, main and sub stats they offer, how to upgrade them and much more.
What Are Echoes In Wuthering Waves?
Echoes are remnants of monsters you defeat in Wuthering Waves, which can be used as equipment by the Resonators to obtain different stat bonuses and the main ability of the respective monster.
To put it in more simple terms, Echoes work similarly to artifacts and accessories in other games. You equip them in the Echo Slot to gain stat buffs and a unique ability.
How Many Echo Slots Are There
Resonators in Wuthering Waves have five Echo Slots in which they can equip their collected Echoes.
How To Use Echo Ability
To use an Echo's ability, you must place it in the first Echo Slot, as the rest can go in the other four for providing stat increases and such buffs.
Echo Cost, Limit & Upgrade
In addition, there's a Cost mechanic for using Echoes in Wuthering Waves. Each Echo, depending on its Class, has a Cost attached to it. The base Cost of a low-rarity Echo is 1, and for the highest rarity, it is 4.
On the other hand, each Resonator has a default Cost Limit of 10, which players can level up through the Data Dock to make it 12. This limits players from equipping the highest Class Echoes in all five slots as then, the cost would be 20.
During the beta, the Echo Cost limit was 12, but you can expect a change to it in the final version of the game as it receives new updates.
Sonata Sets
Remember we told you that Echoes work in a similar fashion to artifacts? Well, Echoes in Wuthering Waves also come under different sets called Sonata.
Each Sonata Set has a bunch of different Echoes in it that you can check from the Sonata Gallery and equipping two to five Echoes from the same Sonata Set gives you an additional set bonus.
For example, there is a Sonata Set called Molten Rift in Wuthering Waves with 12 unique Echoes in it. If you equip two of Molten Rift Echoes, you will get a Fusion Damage increase bonus of 10%.
Meanwhile, if you equip five Echoes from the Molten Rift set, you get the following effect: After using Resonance Skill, Fusion damage is increased by 30%, lasting 15 seconds.
How To Get Echoes
In Wuthering Waves, you can get Echoes by defeating monsters around the world. The drop rate for Echoes from the respective monster depends on RNG, but you can increase your chances and other such factors by levelling up your Data Dock.
We will have a separate guide for Data Dock and how to level it fast. So make sure to check it out.

The Echoes in Wuthering Waves have main and sub-stats, which are governed by their Class as, depending on it, they have particular primary and sub-stats offerings.
At the moment, each Echo in the game has two main stats and up to five sub-stats. While the primary and secondary main stats are absolute, the sub-stats are attached to an Echo whenever you upgrade it by +5 levels.
It's somewhat similar to the sub-stats we get while upgrading artifacts in Genshin Impact.
