Don't be mad he's leaving: Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm comes to an end with season 12 as a truly legendary HBO show. In February 2024, it's time to say goodbye to the iconic comedy series.
Larry David returns for one last hoorah: Curb Your Enthusiasm comes to HBO for the last time, ending the show after 24 years and 12 seasons. The iconic mockumentary-style show, infamous for the improv talent of the cast, has had a "pretty, pretty, pretty good" run. Even though fans are used to completely unpredictable release schedules and long pauses between seasons, it pains me to say that this is it for real this time.
The final season premieres in February on HBO and fans can look forward to more absurd day-to-day life shenanigans. (And, just a tip between you and me – if you're also up for a more dramatic HBO show, give Masters of the Air a try.)
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 | Trailer & Release Date
In early January, HBO shared the trailer for the last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. It premieres on February 4, 2024 and new episodes release weekly. We'll get another ten episodes, meaning that the season finale will be on April 7, 2024. Feel free to take a look:
Is Season 12 Really The End of Curb Your Enthusiasm?
Each season has been "the end" of Curb Your Enthusiasm, really – the season 5 finale was literally titled "The End." Two years later, we had season 6. And after that, Larry David went on a long hiatus with the show but ended up having new ideas, producing a ninth season after pausing for six whole years.
This time, though, David seems pretty set in ending the show:
As "Curb" comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this 'Larry David' persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character. And so, 'Larry David', I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders."
So, maybe don't hold your breath for season 13 and don't be mad he's leaving, be mad he stayed so long. Also, David's cheeky comment might be a hint: will Larry finally meet his demise in season 12? That would certainly close any doors for future seasons.
Curb Your Enthusiasm: New Season, Old Cast
We know them, we love them: the fictionalized versions of the real characters are set to come back for season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Obviously, there's Larry David and Jeff Garlin with his on-screen wife Susie Essman. Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis and J.B. Smoove will also return, joined by Ted Danson and Vince Vaughn.
As for guest stars, Troy Kotsur (The Mandalorian, Coda) will make an appearance. Maybe, just maybe, Jerry Seinfeld also comes back for a fitting end.
For now, we'll have to wait, though. Make sure to mark your calendars for February 4, though!
