Arena had a successful second run. While there were some changes that were initially pretty unpopular, the mode has since become popular once more, with players going head-to-head in exciting battles.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the mode is going to be permanent just yet, and will have to go offline again very soon, but until when can you play the game mode?

The new Arena mode was part of the current in-game event for the Winterblessed skins in League of Legends. With the patch coming to an end and making room for LoL Season 14, Arena is also going to be going offline.

While Riot have not officially confirmed when Arena is going offline, we can estimate that it will be leaving with the start of the 2024 season, so you should be able to play until January 9, 2024.

On January 10, 2024 the first patch of the season, LoL Patch 14.1, is dropping and with it, we're getting a huge item overhaul, map changes and much more and let's be real the League of Legends client can't handle having Arena up as well at the same time as these huge changes.

The challenges for Arena are also time-limited, with them ending on January 9, 2024 so it just makes perfect sense, with everything aligning, to end on that day.

Will LoL Arena Become Permanent In The Future?

Arena is the only rotating game mode with its own icon in the client, which has many players believing that the mode could be added to the client permanently in the future. For now, Riot has not made any announcements yet though, so it is staying a rotating game mode.

Therefore, we could see it being added in the future permanently, but the League of Legends team wants to continue to focus on the balance for Summoner's Rift and Howling Abyss, especially now with the new items just around the corner.
