Patch 12.11 will finally introduce the newest League of Legends champion, Bel’Veth - a Void champion whose insatiable greed for memories and experiences leaves her to devour everything in her path. In this article, we will take a look at her lore and abilities.

The complete guide to Bel’Veth:

What Do We Know About Bel'Veth's Lore?

Bel'Veth was created by a, so to speak, allergic reaction" as the emerging reality impinged on the void. As reaction. the Void split up into several beings that consumed all in their path and were named after that which they left behind - nothingness. These creatures mutated every time they touched a new world, eventually becoming brutal beasts with insatiable greed and desire for annihilation.

While the old Watchers wanted existence to peacefully return to nothingness, this newly mentioned part of the void - the Lavender Sea - wanted to exist on its own. Its all-devouring creatures needed a leader who could unite their collected minds and memories. This leader was meant to wage a war against all people and places, until only her world remained and she could start a new era. This leader is Bel'Veth. She possesses all the memories, emotions and experiences of the port city and the surrounding ocean she was created from. All her collective knowledge makes her nearly omniscient, in addition to her incredible power. This is the Bel'Veth that Kai'Sa tangled with.

What Can Bel'Veth Do?

The new champion's kit matches her lore as she seeks to absorb their opponents and their world and gain their knowledge for herself. Here is how this is reflected in her abilities

  • Passive - Death in Lavender: After using an ability, Bel'Veth's next 2 attacks have increased attack speed. Taking down large monsters or champions gives her permanent attack speed as Lavender stacks. Her attack speed is uncapped, but her attacks & on-hit effects deal decreased damage and she does not gain attack speed as she levels up.
  • Q - Void Surge: Bel'Veth dashes in one of four directions, dealing damage to all enemies she passes through and applying on-hit effects. Each direction has its own unique cooldown that scales with attack speed.
  • W - Above and Below: Bel’Veth slams her tail down, dealing damage, knocking up, and slowing enemies hit. Upon hitting an enemy champion, this ability reduces Q - Void Surge’s dash cooldown in the direction of the champion hit.
  • E - Royal Maelstrom: Bel’Veth channels a storm of slashes around her, gaining damage reduction and increased life steal. Each slash strikes the lowest health enemy within her Maelstrom, dealing more damage the more health they are missing. The amount of slashes scales with her attack speed.
  • Ultimate - Endless Banquet: Okay, here it gets a bit complicated
    • Passive: Every second attack against the same target deals additional True Damage, stacking infinitely. Takedowns against Epic Monsters and Champions leave behind a stack of Void Coral. Epic Void Monsters like Rift Herald and Baron Nashor drop special Void Coral.
    • Active: Bel’veth consumes a stack of Void Coral and releases an explosion that slows and deals true damage to nearby enemies based on their missing health. As she consumes the Void Coral, Bel’Veth temporarily changes into her True Form. Consuming the special Void Coral left by Epic Monsters from the Void (Rift Herald and Baron Nashor) grants Bel'Veth her true form for an extended duration and causes minions that die in her presence to be reborn as Voidlings: small minions that will serve Bel’Veth by marching down the lane in which they were spawned.
    • True Form: When Bel’Veth unleashes her True Form, she gains increased max health, out-of-combat move speed, attack range, and total attack speed. While in her True Form, her Q - Void Surge also allows her to dash through walls.

That's it for Bel'Veth's abilities - looks like attack speed will work quite well on her and she could work as a short-ranged ADC of sorts.

When Is Bel'Veth Coming?

Bel'Veth will be introduced in patch 12.11 and expected to be introduced on the Rift on June 9th. In addition to her classical incarnation, she will also have a Battle Boss skin to truly terrorize the Rift.

Now you have this knowledge, the choice is yours - will you try to resist, or take up service to the Empress of the Void and dominate the jungle? It should be a simple answer.
