The Trouble Fetching Information error is one we often encounter, but how exactly can we fix it?
You booted up your PC, are ready to log into League of Legends for some last-minute solo queue grinding, to get some free skins before the end of the season, but a new foe has appeared. That foe is none other than the League of Legends error ‘Trouble Fetching Information 5C’.
So instead of getting tilted by playing some good old League of Legends, you instead rage quit before the game has even begun. But what if we told you there was a simple way to fix this mess? In this article, we give you some tips and tricks on how to fix the ‘Trouble Fetching Information’ error in League of Legends.
What is the Trouble Fetching Information Error?
This is a very common error that appears, and it doesn’t let you join any game queues. So you can start League fine, and you’re in the client, but the moment you want to queue up for some fun, the error will stop you.
This bug isn’t limited to specific regions, it can happen to anyone and unfortunately, there is no official way to fix this, but there are some ways you can try to fix the problem.
How to Fix the Trouble Fetching Information Error
Solution 1: Restart your Router
There are a few ways to try and fix this issue with your game. This problem often occurs when you’ve got problems with your internet. So what do we suggest doing? Restarting your router seems like a good idea.
- Everything you need to know about the Riot x Arcane event!
Now, when you restart your router, don’t log out of League of Legends. Stay logged in, and see if the error persists once the internet is back. If you still get the error message, you might have to try a different way to fix the issue.
Solution 2: Log into another Riot Account
This solution only works for those of you who might have a second account. Log out of the one you’re currently using and experiencing the error with. Then log in to your second account. Once you’ve done that, just switch between the accounts again, so you can play on the one you wanted to from the start.
This didn’t work either? Then we only have this third option.
Solution 3: Hotspot!
Yes, you read that right, using your hotspot is a last resort of sorts. Use your hotspot to get into queue. Then, once you’ve accepted queue, change back to your original internet. Hopefully, that will work and won’t eat too much of your precious data.
- You want to fix this issue, so you can get to testing out all the changes from LoL Patch 11.22.
Solution 4: The Riot Repair Tool
A final solution is also the Riot repair tool, which you can get right here. With this tool, you can try to troubleshoot just what is wrong with your connection or your game. Hopefully, Riot will know how to help you if all of our tips didn’t work.
Sometimes uninstalling the game and re-installing it could work, but that will take quite long. This is the option we try to avoid at all costs, but sometimes it's sadly unavoidable. Hopefully one of our solutions worked, and you didn’t have to take this final step in fixing your connection issues.
