What is the LCS Lock In Format?
The LCS Lock In Group Stage
The format is simple. The above-mentioned 10 teams will be split into two groups. Once drafted, each team can choose one team to be switched from their group. Once that is settled, it's game time.
The group stage will be a single round-robin and will be played as best-of-1s with the top 4 teams of each group moving on to the knockout rounds.
The LCS Lock In Knockout Round
The remaining 8 teams will participate in the knockout round in a single-elimination bracket. So if you were hoping for a losers bracket, then this isn't the tournament for you.
The quarterfinals are best-of-3s, while the rest of the games are best-of-5s.
When Will LCS Lock In Take Place?
LCS Lock In is a 2-week tournament and is going to kick off on January 14, 2022. So while the LEC will already be playing official matches, LCS fans will have to be a bit more patient and wait for the LCS to start in February.
