LEC Host Sjokz Announces Indefinite Break

LEC Host Sjokz has announced, that she will step away from her role at the LEC-Broadcast to take a needed break. Read all about her reasons for this surprising action.

LEC Host Eefje "Sjokz" Depoortere has announced to step away from the LEC broadcast for the upcoming LEC Summer Split. For nearly a decade now, Sjokz has been one of the most popular figures in the professional League of Legends landscape. She was part of nearly every EU LCS/ LEC Season - and a ton of international tournament broadcasts like Worlds and MSI.

In a longer Statement, she released on her Twitter, Sjokz explained her reasoning behind this decision to step away. In tweet, Sjokz claimed to struggle with mental health problems, due to tragedies in her family and the heavy workload of the last couple of years.

Sjokz Announces Break: Her Lifestyle Proved To Be Unsustainable

Sjokz declared, that due to her lifestyle so far, she needs to take break and spend time on herself and with her loved ones. Unfortunately, as written in her statement, it's not the first time that Sjokz experienced burnout syndromes.

I have been working at breakneck speed for a very long time now, but in the aftermath of the tragedies in my family, I tried to get lost in work, and that's proven to be unsustainable. I feel it's necessary to take a break to spend time on myself and with my loved ones. I've experienced a burnout in the past, and I am recognizing the similar warning signs my body is sending me.

Sjokz Hopes To Be Back For Worlds and LEC Finals

But there is hope for the several Sjokz fans all around the world. As written in her statement, Sjokz will try to be back in the second half of the year. She's already looking forward to host Counterstrike tournaments again and wants to be part of the LEC season finals in Montpellier.

Also, there is the League of Legends World Championship in South Korea, where she hopes to participate, as the best version of herself. The League of Legends community and several professional orgs and teams like G2 esports and MAD Lions are wishing Sjokz a quick recovery, as written under her Twitter Statement.
