There is no doubt, Bel'Veths release only being a few days away now is by far the biggest news regarding League of Legends Patch 12.11. Still, even without a new champion, this would have been a massive patch either way. The durability changes that came with Patch 12.10 are responsible for a massive shift in power.

Therefore, we can not only await plenty of champion buffs and nerfs, but also a lot of item and system changes. Enough chit-chat, let's dive into everything that's going to change with the next League of Legends patch!

Champion Buffs in Patch 12.11

Just so you know, this will be a very long list! Riot is putting a lot of effort into balancing out its huge champion pool. There are many interesting picks that will be buffed with the next patch, including Lee Sin, who was nerfed with LoL Patch 12.7 and those durability changes did him no good either.

ChampionBuffs

As you can see, there are many champions on this list that were in dire need of a buff. For me personally, Taric is most deserving of one. He is a unique and fun support champion who has been sitting at some of the lowest pick rates overall. Even behind Aurelion Sol! Can you imagine?

Champion Nerfs in Patch 12.11

This list is nearly as long as the one before. This was to be expected, right? The durability update had a large impact on champion balance and now Riot has a lot of work to do. There is a difference to the list of champion buffs, though, as there are champions that will receive nerfs to their specific roles.

ChampionNerfs
Lillia Top
  • Base HP: 650 ⇒ 625
  • Passive Damage: 6% (+1.5% per 100 AP) max. HP ⇒ 6% (+1.2% per 100 AP) max. HP

Senna
  • Soul Drop Rate from Minion Kills: 2.166% ⇒ 8.33%
  • Q Base Slow: 20% ⇒ 15%
  • Q Slow Duration: 2s ⇒ 1-2s

Well, seems like Swain's mid-scope update hit a litte too good, right? He has been a force since those changes and his ultimate can be extremely hard to counter, which is probably why Riot decided to lower his AP ratios. We'll see if those changes succeed in balancing him.

Champion Adjustments in Patch 12.11

I think we can all agree on the fact that Zeri had a rough few months since her release. She hit the Rift just massively overpowered and not a single change was able to appropriately balance her out. We all know what happened, she was nerfed into infinity and is now on the bottom of the Bot Lane win rate chart.

ChampionAdjustments
Fizz
  • Mana Growth: 37 ⇒ 52
  • Health Growth: 112 ⇒ 106
Zeri
  • Q - Burst Fire
    • Active Damage: 7-15 (+1.1-1.2 TAD) ⇒ 8-20 (+1.1-1.3 TAD)
    • Passive charged AD: 90-200 (+80% AP) + 1-10% max. Health ⇒ 90-200 (+90% AP) (by lvl. 18) + 3-15% max. Health
    • Passive charged attack slow: 18-50% for 1s ⇒ REMOVED
  • W - Ultrashock Laser
    • Cooldown: 13-9 ⇒ 12-9
    • AD ratio: 1.4 ⇒ 1.5
    • Slow: 30-70% ⇒ 30-50%
    • NEW: If the W hits a wall it will critically strike champions and monsters
  • E - Spark Surge
    • Cooldown: 26-20 ⇒ 22-16
    • Cooldown reduction per hit: 1 ⇒ 0.5 (Cooldown reduction on crit: 3 ⇒ 1.5)
  • R - Lightning Crash
    • Cooldown: 120-70 ⇒ 100-70
    • MS per stack: 1.5% ⇒ 1%
    • Stacks per champion hit by activated AoE: 4 ⇒ 8
Olaf
  • Passive Max. Value Threshold: 22.5% ⇒ 30%
  • Q Base Damage: 60-260 ⇒ 70-270
  • Q Min. Cooldown: 3s ⇒ 2.5s
  • W Cooldown: 16-10 ⇒ 16-12
  • R Armor/MR: 10-40 ⇒ 10-30
Sona
  • W Damage blocked threshold for Passive now matches W base shield

As you can see, those Zeri adjustments are bound to be quite extensive. Every single one of her abilities has been worked on. Riot August has gone into more detail in his tweet about the Zeri changes.

They aim at reducing her utility and high-end mobility she gains through her ultimate. In return her damage will be buffed, cooldowns lowered and her W will crit when it's fired through walls.

System Buffs in Patch 12.11

Now it's getting serious! If you thought the champion buffs and nerfs were the bulk of the changes in Patch 12.11... you were wrong! A huge number of items were adjusted with the release of the Patch 12.10 durability update and there is even more to come. Let's see which items and systems made the cut.

  • Magic Resistance per Enemy: 7 ⇒ 9
Zeke's Convergence
  • Armor: 25 ⇒ 35
Knight's Vow
  • Ability Haste: 10 ⇒ 20

Quite a list, right? There are many items on there that were clearly overnerfed, so let's see if Riot is successful with re-balancing all those items with their proposed changes.

System Nerfs in Patch 12.11

I'm a little exhausted reading through all those buffs! Worry not, there are some nerfs awaiting systems and items with LoL Patch 12.11, just not that many. Although there might be some nerfs that are bound to have a large impact on games.

System

Nerfs
Tower Damage
  • Outer Tower AD: 167-391 ⇒ 162-344 over game time
Everfrost
  • Slow/Stun Duration: 1.5s ⇒ 1s
Liandry's Anguish
  • Base Burn Damage: 60 ⇒ 50
Riftmaker
  • Ability Power: 80 ⇒ 70
Umbral Glaive
  • Cooldown: 35s ⇒ 40s
Maw of Malmortius
  • Maw of Malmortius: 60s ⇒ 75s
Death's Dance
  • Heal Ratio: 140% bonus AD ⇒ 120% bonus AD
Lethal Tempo
  • Bonus Attack Speed per Stack: 5-9% ⇒ 3-7% for ranged champions (melee unchanged)
Kraken Slayer
  • Bonus True Damage: 60 (+45% bonus AD) ⇒ 50 (+40% bonus AD)

The nerfs to tower damage are only going to be applied to the outer turrets for now, as they deal too much damage currently. Let's see if tower-diving will be a less risky option during the early game in Patch 12.11.

System Adjustments in Patch 12.11

As you can see, there is just a single system on this patch, albeit a very impactful one. Grievous Wounds has been at the core of the durability changes with pretty much every item that has it being adjusted.

SystemAdjustments
Grievous Wounds
  • 30/50% ⇒ 25/40% reduced healing (items and champions)
Thornmail
  • Thorns Damage: 10 (+10% bonus Armor) ⇒ 10 (+20% bonus Armor)
Bramble Vest
  • Thorns Damage: 3 ⇒ 4
Mortal Reminder
  • Enhance GW Proc: 3 basic attacks ⇒ 2 basic attacks
Chempunk Chainsword
  • AD: 45 ⇒ 55
  • Ability Haste: 15 ⇒ 25
Executioner's Calling
  • AD: 15 ⇒ 20
Morellonomicon
  • AP: 80 ⇒ 90
  • Health: 250 ⇒ 300
Chemtech Purifier
  • AP: 55 ⇒ 60
Oblivion Orb
  • 30 ⇒ 35

It will be interesting to see if this adjustment hits the right chords, especially regarding all the other changes to systems and items that will be part of the coming League of Legends Patch.

These are all changes that will await us with League of Legends Patch 12.11. This is going to be one of the most exciting ones so far this year. Will Riot be able to balance out their durability changes? How is Bel'Veth going to affect the current meta? We will find out on June 8, 2022!
