Item Changes in LoL Patch 13.1b

As mentioned, it isn't just the champions themselves getting some love from Riot, but some of their core items are also getting buffed to improve the quality of life for those of you playing in the bot lane.

Do you agree with Faker and the current state of solo queue?

Grievous Wounds Adjustments Shipped in LoL Patch 13.1b

It isn't just fighter items and ADC items that are getting updated, but also items with Grievous Wounds. Healing and anti-healing has been an issue in League of Legends for a while now, with devs just not getting the balance of 'too much heal' and 'too much GW' right.

That's why Riot said that early in LoL Season 13 they would tackle the issue of Grievous Wounds and healing. Are these the right steps to take?

LoL Patch 13.2 Changes Coming in LoL Patch 13.3

Ahri ASU Pushed Back to Patch 13.3

Ahri will be getting her art and sustainability update in LoL Patch 13.3, instead of 13.2. She was released back in 2011 and has since become one of the oldest champions in the game. Her model was not up-to-date anymore and while she has a lot of skins, most of them just didn't suit her outdated model.

Thanks to the art and sustainability update, Riot could change that though and her in-game art, model and abilities got cleaned up. Some major quality of life changes to her kit were also introduced to keep the champion easier to maintain in the future. Basically, her code was also updated. Oh, and all of her splash arts got tweaked or completely re-done as well.

While all of this was planned for LoL Patch 13.2, Riot has since revealed that the update is going to be pushed back to the next patch. This means we should be getting Ahri's ASU at the same time as Aurelion Sol's Comprehensive Gameplay Update (CGU).

Annie Buffs Revealed

Annie has not been feeling great in recent times. She's even been struggling against champions she should be beating with ease, like melee champions, but she hasn't been a popular or good pick, which is why Riot is making some big changes to her kit and buffing her.

Annie's AbilitiesChanges in LoL Patch 13.3
Pyromania (P)
  • Stun is now primed on game start and respawn
Incinerate (Q)
  • Mana Cost: 90-110 >>> 70-110
Molten Shield (E)
  • Shield Potency Buff (numbers not determined yet)
  • Now can only reflect damage once per target, per shield
    • Note: Tibbers duplicated shield counts as a new shield
  • Damage Reflect: 20-60 (+20%AP) >>> 30-90 (+40%AP)
  • Damage is reflected from all damage, not just auto attacks
Summon Tibbers (R)
  • Tibbers HP: 1300-3100 (+0%AP) >>> 1300-3100 (+75%AP)
  • Tibbers Resists: 30-90 (+0%AP) >>> 30-90 (+5%AP)

Annie gets to keep her high AP ratio on her ultimate ability, but Tibbers will be a bit more durable and stronger, which means it'll be more impactful.

These changes have not been revealed for LoL Patch 13.1b, which means that they're likely going to be coming to live servers in LoL Patch 13.3. Sorry Annie mains, you'll have to be a bit more patient.

Early Surrender Changes in LoL Patch 13.3

Riot will be making some adjustment to early surrender, something which should have happened in LoL Patch 13.2, but will be pushed back. Since it was not mentioned in the 13.1b Patch notes, we do think it'll be released in Patch 13.3.

According to Riot Auberaun, the team is testing out some changes to allow for 4/5 for surrenders between the 15 and 20 minute mark, rather than a unanimous vote.

This will be implemented only in normal games (draft and blind), while the team looks at the data before deciding whether to implement this into ranked games as well.

Upcoming League of Legends Skins

Lunar Gods Skins

We are going to be getting the Lunar God Skins in LoL Patch 13.1b. While the first part of the Lunar New Year celebration was kicked off with the Mythmaker skins and the second part will be brand-new Lunar Gods skins for five champions, along with an old skin from 2022 getting a Prestige version.

Champions Getting Lunar Gods Skins

  • Lunar Empress Ashe
  • Lunar Empress Qiyana
  • Lunar Emperor Thresh
  • Lunar Guardian Kha'Zix
  • Lunar Guardian Malphite

Malphite is probably the best skin of the whole bunch. Who would have thought someone would say that with both Qiyana and Ashe in the mix as well, eh? But this concept works so well with him and he looks incredible

Champions Getting Heartthrob & Heartache Skins

The new skins for LoL Patch 13.3 are going to be the Heartthrob & Heartache skins which Riot has revealed. This skins will go live with the next complete patch, just in time for Valentine's Day.

  • Heartache Vi
  • Heartache Caitlyn
  • Heartthrob Amumu

LoL Patch 13.1b & Patch 13.3 Release Dates

The hotfix patch is going to release a day after Patch 13.2 was supposed to go live. So prepare for the changes to hit live servers on Janaury 26, 2023. Whether you'll have to wait an extra day for the upcoming Lunar Gods skins remains to be seen, since skins usually go live a day after the patch drops.

The next regular patch should be Patch 13.3, which is going to release as scheduled on February 8, 2023. The developers have expressed that they do think everything will be fixed by then, which means that LoL Patch 13.3 should release on time with the missing changes from 13.3.
