The LoL Preseason 2024 is going to make some key changes to items, but there are also even more adjustments planned that will shake up Summoner's Rift!
The League of Legends map has been changed and adjusted throughout the last few years. The jungle in the middle of it is iconic, but it is not stagnant, with elemental drakes having been added, as well as changes to every single jungle critter throughout the years as well.
Now, Riot is going to be making even more adjustments and changes to Summoner's Rift in the upcoming LoL Preseason 2024. In a recent dev blog, a few hints have been given to know what exactly Riot is going to be adjusting in the coming months.
LoL Preseason 2024: New Map And Objective Changes Teased
While we don't know the specifics just yet, but it seems like there will be some key adjustments made to the League of Legends map in the Preseason ahead of LoL Season 14. There had been rumours about a new dragon being added, but Riot have also teased some more changes.
We have a lot of changes that we're working on. We're looking at terrain adjustments to parts of Summoner's Rift, changes to map objectives and significant modifications to the item system [...]
In the dev blog, Pu "Pupulaster" Liuy revealed the changes and went more in depth into the upcoming item changes that will be hitting Summoner's Rift soon.
Unfortunately, he did not reveal the changes to Summoner's Rift directly, but there have been rumours of a new dragon, as previously mentioned.
Some players have also speculated, whether Riot is going to make some drastic adjustments to the Braon and Dragon pit on the map, even giving it some form of 'swap' mechanic to make it a bit more unpredictable which of the objectives is where on the map.
This was mostly suggested by players who want to see more agency from the top lane, but with how strong dragons are, most teams decide to play for the bot lane instead.
We're going to have to wait a bit longer to find out exactly what Riot means by terrain adjustments and map objective changes. A dev blog or post should be released sometime in September which will go over these changes in detail, hopefully.
