League of Legends fans rejoice! With LoL Patch 13.8 recently going live, as well as more updates hitting the Public Beta Environment (PBE) server for the upcoming LoL Patch 13.9 as well. One of those changes, other than the Neeko Mid-Scope Update of course, is something fans have been asking for forever.

Currently, on the PBE, players can test out a brand-new emote wheel. Sure we've had five emotes for a while, but now it seems like we can be even more obnoxious with even more emotes!

LoL Patch 13.9: Riot Adding More Emotes

When Riot revealed their new pings during the 2023 League of Legends preseason, many fans were disappointed that the team was not able to update the emote wheel as well to encompass more emotes. Five emotes are fine... but how about nine...? Right? Right.

So, after years of begging, and some strong words from fans this preseason, Riot has finally given in and on the PBE for LoL Patch 13.9, players can equip a total of nine emotes. Eight around the wheel and one in the middle.

These new emotes are going to be replacing the situational emotes. For example, the emote that pops up when your team receives and ace is going to be taken out, along with the other situational emotes available, but fans don't mind this change, saying they prefer having access to the emotes rather than wait for specific situations.

Emotes have become a key part of the game and can even be used in specific game situations to sus out vision when you're unsure, so having a wider variety ready is a great change and will make League of Legends a little more tilting. What emotes to equip though... now that is the next big question.
