Riot Forge and Digital Sun are going to release The Mageseeker in April 2023 and to celebrate it, they're also releasing the prequel as a webcomic!
Riot has just announced the prequel to their upcoming game The Mageseeker and revealed it to be a webcomic that can be read on Webtoon. This is perfect for any lore lovers out there and who want to immerse themselves in the upcoming story of The Mageseeker.
What does a comic about Katarina have to do with Demacia and Sylas though? Well, there is a lot to unpack there for any reader who wants to know more about the world of Runeterra.
League of Legends: Katarina Leads Up To The Mageseeker
Riot Forge just released their very own four-issue webcomic featuring everyone's favorite Noxian assassin Katarina. This story is the prologue to the much-anticipated Mageseeker from Riot Forge and Digital Sun, which will be an action RPG wherein the players get to start an uprising in Demacia as Sylas.
He might not be from Demacia or Noxus, but we do love ourselves some K'Sante. Here is how you counter him in League of Legends:
In the webcomic Katarina is sent on her "most dangerous mission of her life" to Demacia and readers also catch a glimpse of the mage rebellion in the country. For anyone who wants to get even deeper into the story we suggest also picking up the comic League of Legends: Lux in which even more information about Lux' and Sylas' relationship gets revealed.

For anyone who wants to get the full experience of the Mageseeker, Riot does urge players to read the webcomic ahead of the game, which is set to release on April 18, 2023 for multiple platforms.

In the four-part webcomic we witness the brutal murder of King Jarvan III at the hands of Katarina. This is a pivotal moment in the lore and story, since Demacian mages and the uprising get blamed for the death of the king, and players will likely have to play as Sylas to clear his – and the other mages under his uprising – names.
