Riot promised that for the 2024 LoL Season we will be getting a cinematic and for Season 14 it's going to be a big one. So, what can we suspect from this cinematic?
While the season start for 2023 didn't go as planned, Riot have acknowledged their mistakes and promised players and fans that LoL Season 14 is going to feature an epic cinematic. Well, with players hopes restored, it's time to check out when the season cinematic will even be released and which champions should be a part of the story.
Riot recently revealed that even their cinematics will be part of the overarching lore, so it'll be interesting to see which champions Riot is going to feature. Maybe a sneak peek at the newly reworked Skarner?
LoL Season 14 Cinematic: Release Date Estimate
The Season 14 cinematic is going to be released for the start of the ranked season. Ranked, according to Riot, is going to kick off on January 9, 2024. Therefore, we believe that the cinematic is going to be released a day before the ranked start.
In 2023 the embarrassment that was the cinematic was released a day before the first patch of the year and judging by that we think that Riot is going to follow the same rhythm in 2024 as well, only this time we will actually get an actual cinematic and not a high-quality tour of Summoner's Rift.

There aren't any hints at the champions right now for the cinematic, but we could be seeing some of the scrapped champions of 2023. Riot Brightmoon had stated that there was a cinematic planned for the season start of the 2023 season, but the team didn't have enough time to finish it, hence why it was scrapped. He also explained that he cannot go too into detail though about the cinematic, since they might re-use some of the ideas for it in the future.
One champion that seems to be confirmed so far is Aatrox, who was supposed to play a key role in the scrapped cinematic. There had been some assets on the PBE for ward skins and stuff, which hinted at him being part of the cinematic and it seems like in 2024 he will get his time to shine.
Potential Theme Of LoL Season 14 Cinematic
This cinematic should have a similar feel and vibe to The Call, according to some sources. While the champions will differ from the 2022 season cinematic, the animation and story-telling should be similar to that one, which is going to be amazing, with The Call being one of the most viewed and popular season start cinematics ever.
