The League of Legends community is furious about the new Ultimate Samira skin. Read all about it here.
League of Legends is known for its wide variety of skins. From time to time, Riot Games releases special skins for some champions, but the newest addition has sparked hate amongst the community. What happened?
LoL Fans Furious Over Samira Skin
In League of Legends there are a different tiers for skins, that are variating in costs. The newest skin "Soul Fighter Samira" belongs to the highest tier "Ultimate" which costs the most. The Samira skin is priced with 3250 Riot Points which is roughly $34.
The popular site League of Legends Fandom describes the ultimate skins as:
Pushes the boundaries of development by completely re-imagining the champion. Brings something new and unexpected to the game. Includes a new model that evolves into different forms, new textures, new splash image, new animations, new visual, new voice over and sounds, as well as additional/bonus content.
And while the splash art looks fantastic and has a unique style, fans are outraged about the skin. In the League of Legends Subreddit, a discussion about the skin broke out. User "gondar_1908" shared his opinion:
Why is the Samira Skin declared ultimate? I really don't understand why they call the Samira Skin Ultimate. Pls don't get me wrong, the Skin looks fantastic...for a legendary. But Ultimate? No way. Look at Elemtalist Lux. THIS should be the baselines for Skins costing 30 Bucks. Anyway I am really looking forward for the event. Maybe Riot plays 5D Chess and the Skin will change based on the event.
Popular lol streamer Drututt expressed his dissatisfaction without holding back:
New "Ultimate" samira skin is utterly disappointing, there is so much they could have done but instead we got a glorified legendary that will cost u almost twice the amount. Not to mention it doesnt even look like an ultimate visually. Thread on skins with more effort.

Conclusion
It seems like the community won't calm down, as dozens of videos are still being released on this topic. Maybe there is a little bit of hate farming involved, but a big portion of the players are obviously very unhappy about the skin.
The lack of effort shown by Riot Games seems to be a main point for the hate, especially by looking at Ultimate skins from the past. For a lot of people, there aren't just not enough visual changes and special effects to see this skin as an Ultimate one.
Now, only the future will show if that's just the opinion of a few people or the silent mass will just buy the skin.
