The popular LoL pro-player Jankos might not play next year and considers his retirement.
One of the longest standing LEC pro-players considers his retirement. Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski might have played hit last matches in the highest European League of Legends competition, after an underwhelming season with Team Heretics.
LoL: LEC Star Jankos Considers Retirement
Everybody that has followed the LEC, or its predecessor, the EU LCS, knows him – Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski, lovingly named "The First Blood King". Since 2014, Jankos has been a vital part of the European Esport landscape and won multiple titles throughout his illustrious career.
What a fucking sad ending

Now the legendary jungler is considering his retirement, as he told the world in a post-game interview. Jankos's Team Heretics was just eliminated by Fnatic in the first round of the LEC playoffs, which means we won't see him in the final or at Worlds this year, no matter his decision regarding his career.
I dont realy know what I want to do right now. I didn't plan on losing, so I didn't plan on my future. I don't know how much I have left. I'm not sure if I'm going to be competing next year or not. I have a lot of time to reflect and I'm just glad that I was able to help Heretics and help my teammates and hopefully they think good of me.

His individual performance is not a reason for retirement, that's for sure, since Jankos was still one of the best Junglers in the LEC this season. And many community members are hoping to see a few more seasons of the League with Jankos in it.
In his nearly 10-year long LoL career, Jankos played for teams like ROCCAT, with their full polish lineup, H2K and G2 Esports, winning multiple titles with the later one. After five years with G2 Jankos joined Team Heretics and has been playing for the org since December 2022.
He earned his community given nickname "First Blood King" from his very successful early game play style, that led to many first kills throughout his career. Beside being a professional LoL player through and through, he is known for his entertaining twitch streams and his overall sunny personality.
It will be interesting to see, what Jankos' decision might look like. But one thing is for sure, if the First Blood King is really retiring, it would be a huge loss for the LEC and the professional esport scene in general. We would surely miss him.
