Stop playing video games now and study for school instead! Most gamers have probably heard this one before. But why not both? One does not exclude the other – and this is best seen in history. Media like movies and video games can teach you valuable information that sticks and they're more exciting than the odd boring history lesson.
Many games are based on historical events and recreate them (sometimes more, sometimes less) truthfully. Of course, we don't want to say that video games can replace history lessons but sometimes it doesn't hurt to put down the history book and pick up the controller.
