AI "art" has been taking over the internet with these artists believing they're creating works of god. But now, actual animators and illustrators are schooling them on social media.
AI art has become more and more popular online, with people using it and showing off what Dall E or Midjourney spat out after giving the tool some prompts. AI art has even gotten to the point where actual billion-dollar companies use these tools instead of hiring actual artists.
So, with the growing trend and popularity, some people like to truly show off their AI images, but it seems that some of them think a little too highly of themselves when it comes to their art.

Showing off your art or content on social media is nothing new. But it seems that there are some people who take it a step too far. Recently, Jessie Lam, who worked on Invincible, as well as Gears 5 in the animation department clapped back against a user who seemed to take offense at a meme she posted.
In the meme she posted, which was an Invinicble meme might I add, she maade fun of AI art. Someone then commented that it was "very ironic that you made this post without using your own art". The true irony? She did work on the show.

A similar exchange happened recently after a Twitter/X user posted some AI art of Luffy from One Pice after watching the series. This prompted José B. Rebolledo to respond, stating that the AI artist should "learn how to color properly".
The original poster then went on to insult Rebolledo, saying he wouldn't even be able to make an illustration like this in his dreams. Rebolledo's response? Priceless.
I can do better, I can animate it, because I've been animating for One Piece. You idiot.
This interaction also got a lot of traction online, with people celebrating how animators and illustrators are dealing with these AI art imposters. It's not just small-time animators that have been taking jabs at AI art, but even Illumination decided to make fun of it with their short Super Bowl 2024 ad.
