According to insiders, the live-action adaptation Snow White is said to be a total disaster, and has performed very poorly in test screenings.
The upcoming live-action film based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is apparently terrible, which was probably to be expected after going through production hell.
Perhaps as a result, the film was absent from Cinemacon, and its release has been postponed to 2025.
Snow White: Rumors Abound Concerning Production
In the live-action Snow White, we will see familiar faces like Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the evil stepmother. But despite a promising cast, insiders have been claiming that the production hasn't been going smoothly.
The film was originally slated for release in 2024, but the premiere has already been delayed by a year, with insiders claiming that there have numerous reshoots so far.
Additionally, the film's budget is also a major point of concern. Revenues of nearly $350 million would need to be generated to break even with the film.
I actually can refute this @DanielRPK report. As I said months ago that it was in trouble before they moved it back a year, it actually is testing poorly and those involved don't have much hope for it. The film is a mess and not working despite reshoots. #SnowWhite https://t.co/cPCsh1FDIE

The script has been described in the past as disrespectful to Walt Disney and his legacy. There have been numerous significant adjustments, and even Zegler herself has made some changes. Moreover, the atmosphere on set is said to be less than ideal.
The test audience also reportedly didn't give very positive feedback about the film, perhaps unsurprisingly.
The developers still have nearly a year to work on the film, so let's wait and hope that the live-action film turns out as well as the other live adaptations.
