Fortnite Top 10 Shotguns Of All Time

1-11

200! 200!

Benjamin Pohl Benjamin Pohl
Fortnite - June 25th 2024, 13:05 GMT+2
Fortnite Shotguns honorable Mentions

Honorable Mentions:

Not every good shotgun could make it into the top 10 - so let's start with those bangers and slide into the ranking!

Dragon's Breath Shotgun (Legendary)

  • The Dragon's Breathe Shotgun had a magazine of 4 bullets, but they were all shot at once! The weapon was perfect to enter an enemies' box and deal a huge first hit! If you bascially stood in someone with a golden Dragon's Breathe, you could even one pump them! The gun also set everything on fire.

Enhanced Drum Shotgun

  • The original "Duff Duff" shotgun from chapter 1 got a mythic variant in chapter 4 season 3. You could get it by claiming one Loot Island. With 12 shots in the magazine and a fire rate of 3 bullets per second, you could shred enemies!

Ranger Shotgun

  • For sure, it wasn't the best gun ever. It was yet again a "one shot - one opportunity"-weapon, but with a good strategy, you could hit bangers with it, even from a decent range. It was basically a Combat Shotgun with more damage and even more precision, but just one shot in the mag.
Fortnite The Dub Shotgun

10. The Dub (Exotic)

The Dub is a mix of the OG Double Barrel Shotgun and the loved Flint Knock. It was mostly purchasable at different NPCs since Chapter 2 Season 5. In Chapter 4 you also could get it from the Holo Chests.

The weapon got a lot of attention due to the polish professional Fortnite player Kami using it in Cash Cups. After him abusing the knock back, Epic Games vaulted and unvaulted the gun multiple times.

Today it's not anymore in the game sadly, but it was added to Fortnite's Creative mode. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Kit Charge Shotgun

9. Kit's Charge Shotgun (Mythic)

Sounds like a kettle getting too hot, but it's actually a pretty good shotgun! Especially in season 3 of chapter 2, when there was no classic pump shotgun available.

You could charge the weapon to increase the damage, which was a completely different mechanic brought to the game. Due to the headshot multiplier, the weapon was able to do one pumps when fully charged, which made the mythic one so much better than his lower rarities.

The weapon also had a pretty decent range damage, but it's still a bit complicated to play. | © Epic Games

Heisted Breacher Shotgun

8. Heisted Breacher Shotgun (Exotic)

The Heisted Breacher Shotgun was a pretty interesting version of the OG Heavy Shotgun. There are 4 minor changes, that have been made for the exotic gun:

  • Damage is set on 106 to the body and 185 to the head, the damage falloff began at 11 meters, which is a pretty far range for a shotgun
  • There was no bullet spread! The shotgun always hit opponents and structures with one Bullet, like an AR or SMG does
  • When aiming downside, you had a fully first shot accuracy on a decent range, but when hipfiring, the gun was just like rolling the dice!
  • The structure damage was originally set to 759, meaning it could even destroy a metal wall immediately! It was nerfed later down to 185 which is still pretty good | © Epic Games
Fortnite primal shotgun

7. Spire Assassin's Primal Shotgun (Mythic)

One of the worst seasons ever featured one of the most overpowered shotguns in the game. It had a similar effect to the Frenzy Auto Shotgun: you could step into your enemies' box and simply hold down the trigger.

But instead of a constant ear-ringing duff-duff-sound, it was actually shooting in fast-paced two shot bursts. With good pumpguns being pretty weird to get, the primal was just different! | © Epic Games

Oscar Frenzy Auto Shotgun

6. Oscar's Frenzy Auto Shotgun (Mythic)

The "Duff Duff", as the well-known Forntite-streamer Aussie Antics called it back in Chapter 5 Season 1, is a brutal auto shotgun, that was perfect for players who loved to go straight up into the enemies boxes.

With a fire rate of 2.2 shots per second and a magazine from 8 to 12 bullets, the weapon was a nightmare! You could get the mythic version at Lavish Lair from the boss Oscar. | © Epic Games

Enhanced Havoc Shotgun Fortnite

5. Enhanced Havoc Shotgun (Mythic)

The mythic version of the Havoc Pump Shotgun was released in chapter 4 season 2. You only could find them inside the Highcard vaults all around the map. And the weapon is not too special to be honest. But it's perfect!

  • 138 body damage and a 2 times headshot multiplier (Damage cap is at 210, so it wasn't one shot in zero build)
  • 70 Structure damage, which always destroyed recently build wood walls
  • Very precised crosshair, especially while aiming down

It could easily be on a higher spot, but it was basically the only playable shotgun in his season. The combat was trash and the exotic weapons were not part of the "regular" loot pool. But we love the Havoc! | © Epic Games

Torwächter Schrotflinte

4. Cerberus' Gatekeeper Shotgun (Mythic)

For the first few days, it was a bit strange to get used to that weapon. 3 bullets in the magazine was tough. But after players found out how to play the weapon, it was simply OP! On the other variants, you also could increase the magazine up to 5 bullets with a drum mag by the way.

The Gatekeeper shotgun works like a Tactical Shotgun, but has way better damage out of a closed boxfight as well. So 3 or even 2 bullets are by far enough to eliminate another player! With its quick reload time, it's also not too bad having only 3 bullets. | © Epic Games

Fortnite Epic Games top guns Battle Royale Tactical Shotgun

3. Tactical Shotgun (Legendary)

Speaking about the Tactical Shotgun, the epic and legendary shotgun was simply overpowered in chapter 2 season 1! With increased structure damage to 75 and 78, both rarities could break wood walls in 2 shots or immediately if recently built.

The damage was also pretty insane, with 87 damage on the body and 195 to the head, combined with a 1.5 fire rate! This weapon was made to shred enemies with an 8 bullet magazine! | © Epic Games

Fortnite Combat Shotgun

2. Combat Shotgun (Legendary)

The Combat Shotgun was hated so much in season 9 first. But when players adapted their playstyle to the weapon, everyone recognized how strong it was! With a fire rate of 1.7 and the ultimate precision, it was basically a better tac shotgun, that could even deal massive damage on 20 meters and further!

Later when the weapon was vaulted and unvaulted again, it was nerfed to a fully trash gun without any damage. But in Chapter 5 Season 3, the combat had a great comeback! The weapon got a new design and even a mythic variant! | © Epic Games

Fortnite pumpgun

1. Pump Shotgun (Legendary)

The original Pump Shotgun, simply a classic! The epic and legendary variants were introduced in season 6 and made 105 and 110 body damage with a 2 times headshot multiplier. The pump was so strong, even the blue variant was able to deal one pumps - the legendary version was able to do it even with damage fall off at a bigger range!

The pump had a lot of changes in case of damage and headshot multiplier, but we won't forget these old days and the beatiful sound of the OG spas... | © Epic Games

After years of Fortnite, we've had a lot of different crazy weapons. But to be honest, most of the time Fortnite's meta is based around the shotguns that are currently in the game.

So we figured out, which was actually the best shotgun we have ever seen in the game. Let's get into the ranking!
