Fortnite will get a LAN event in Saudi Arabia this summer. The "Esports World Cup" is set to top everything that has been done before!
Fortnite is getting an offline event in Saudi Arabia again this year. Starting this year, Gamers8 will be renamed "Esports World Cup" and is set to be a huge tournament featuring multiple esports titles with the largest prize pool ever. And right in the middle of it is Fortnite again, with a brand-new concept.
Fortnite Is Part Of The Esports World Cup 2024
The Esports World Cup is the continuation of Gamers8 from 2023. This year's LAN event will once again take place in Riyadh. Games to be played include Counter Strike, Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, and as recently announced, Fortnite.
The scoring system for the event will work by players earning points for their team in their respective game. In the end, the team with the best mix of players from different esports titles will be crowned the winner.
Fortnite To Debut With New UEFN Mode
Fortnite is set to debut in Riyadh with an all-new competitive mode. This was announced by the Esports World Cup itself on X, formerly Twitter. The details of this mode are still unknown. However, it will be a UEFN island.

This means that we will see a completely new island from Fortnite Creative 2.0 in Saudi Arabia this summer. The event could be similar to Mr. Beast's Survival Challenge, Fortnite's Olympic Shooting, or the FNCS All-Star Showdown modes like Bullseye Bonanza and Blueprint Battle. The teaser also reminds us a bit of the 2019 Fortnite Creative World Cup as well.
How To Qualify For The LAN Event
Details on when and how the qualification for the event will take place are still unknown. So far, the organizer has only indicated that there will be both invited players and spots other players can qualify for. Whether there will be a separate qualification has not yet been announced.
It is possible that the current FNCS winners will receive a direct invitation to the final offline event, similar to the Olympics. But we could also see comebacks from former Creative mode winners like Anas or Mitr0, who have already retired from regular Fortnite esports.
However, due to the new cross-game mode, where players collect points for their esports organization, it can be assumed that only players from such an organization will be able to participate. Many large esports teams will therefore be scouting for players shortly before the event will launch.
How Much Is The Prize Money?
The hosts want to top the former Gamers8 event with the Esports World Cup in every case. That means a total of 60 million dollars to be distributed as price money. 30 million will go to the finals of the respective games, a further 20 million will be awarded for the "Club Championship" and the rest will be distributed in the qualifiers and to MVPs.

We'll have to wait and see how the format and qualifiers play out. We'll keep you updated as we learn more. Until then, good luck grinding!
