Unknown 9: Awakening was originally scheduled for release in 2021, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused delays for developer Reflector Entertainment. After a long time in the dark, there is now a new sign of life in the form of a gameplay trailer. During the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase on March 7, 2024, the developers presented new gameplay footage that highlighted the game's story and combat.

Long-Awaited: Unknown 9: Awakening Gameplay Trailer Now Available

We follow Haroona, a member of one of two opposing secret organizations. These groups are vying for control of the knowledge of the Unknown 9, which could determine the fate of humanity. Haroona and other members of both organizations are utilizing the power of an alternate dimension. This power grants our character unique abilities, such as telekinesis or mind control, which are essential gameplay elements in Unknown 9: Awakening. The trailer also showcases parkour interludes reminiscent of Assassin's Creed.

The Unknown: 9 series includes not only the video game, but also a podcast, a comic book, and a novel, so if you can't wait for the summer release, you can enjoy the other parts now. The action adventure is due to be released in summer 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
