They're finally on their way: Mechs are coming to Helldivers! But there's still a lot to do to secure their arrival.
At least since the video of a Helldivers 2 player being surprised by a mysterious stranger with a bunch of new stuff, fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of playable mechs in the game. This, as we now know, is happening soon, but the developers aren't making it quite so easy for us to get our hands on these metal colossi.
"Our Factories Are Under Attack!" – Mech Production Is Halted
In a funny little marketing role-play move, the Helldivers 2 Twitter/X account released a statement addressed to all Helldivers, playfully announcing the arrival of mechs in the game.
THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Our factories are under attack, halting all output. Helldivers have been deployed to liberate Tien Kwan! pic.twitter.com/NM4A26jZlh

They challenge the Helldivers, meaning the players, to defend the factories on Tien Kwan producing Exosuits from an attack by the automatons. Until this is accomplished, the production of the new Exosuit technology will be halted.
MAJOR ORDER: All Helldivers are called to liberate Tien Kwan immediately! pic.twitter.com/Hgu9ovO5fy

The devs have devised an engaging marketing strategy that involves players in the release of new content. Within the game, players are prompted by the "major order" to immediately engage in defending the facilities, thus ensuring the arrival of the long-awaited mechs.
The Automatons captured Tien Kwan, which was home to the sole Morgunson Arsenal producing Exosuits – new, powerful weaponry that was slated for imminent fleetwide deployment. The Automatons do not appear to have discovered the Arsenal yet, but it is only a matter of time.We must retake Tien Kwan immediately. If we fail, the Automatons will steal the Exosuit technology for themselves, and deployment of this powerful weaponry will be severely delayed.
The major order suggests that if players fail to successfully complete this mission in time, the production of mechs will be delayed, potentially affecting the implementation of the new content into the game. This approach motivates the fans and makes them feel even more like integral parts of the game.
Until Sunday, March 10, players have time to execute the mission and boost the liberation status of Tien Kwan until it reaches 100%.
However, it's safe to assume that the community will accomplish this without any issues, and therefore, the mechs will presumably be added to the game on that date or in the near future. But just to be sure: You better join the fight now and give the automatons what they deserve!
