Remember that glorious Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow? The one that was hyped with AI-generated images and ended up looking like this? Yeah, you probably do. That was amazing.

Now, the next experience is coming to the U.S. - and while it doesn't seem like much of a scam, it still kind of reminds me of the Wonka Experience.

The Promise Of Immersion: Animal Crossing Meets The Real World

Drum roll fooooor: The Animal Crossing Aquarium Experience! Originating at the Seattle Aquarium, this tour hits the road this June, with a series of stops planned throughout the United States this year. At each stop, visitors will be treated to a fusion of themed activities and captivating aquatic exhibits, all with a charming Animal Crossing twist.

Yeah, I hear you, that DOES sound cool! And I think there is a lot of potential in that idea. I mean, who doesn't love the in-game aquarium in Animal Crossing games?

The Reality Check: Is The Animal Crossing Aquarium Experience Worth The Hype?

But I fear that the potential will not be realized. What COULD be a great immersion, maybe even with big screens of animated Animal Crossing fish and beloved characters like Blathers you can hug and then go get coffee at Brewsters, is just a regular aquarium visit with some cardboard cutouts and a stamp card. Oh, and a merch table.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with spending a day at the aquarium and having fun watching the fish! But isn't it kind of silly to call it an ANIMAL CROSSING EXPERIENCE? Where is the experience? In getting my fourth stamp for finding cardboard Nook?

I don't know. I think it's wasted potential - with a little more effort you could have done some pretty cool stuff. Still, if you want to check it out for yourself, go ahead. You can read all about the Animal Crossing Aquarium Experience here.
