Every time a console-exclusive title is released, there are fans who engage in proxy wars against allegedly rivalrous titles. Helldivers Director Johan Pilestedt has had enough of it.
Helldivers 2 became a surprise success for the Swedish game development studio Arrowhead and subsequently turned CEO Johan Pilestedt into a star on Twitter/X. With his relatable takes on various topics such as monetization or over-hiring, he gained popularity not only among Helldivers 2 players.
By releasing exclusively on PlayStation and PC, Helldivers 2 has given rise to discussions among console wars enthusiasts, who compare the co-op shooter to the Xbox evergreen Halo. Pilestedt had yet another fantastic response to this silly discourse.
Pilestedt Is Tired Of Gamers Comparing Games To Fuel Rivalries
On Twitter, a Helldivers 2 fan posted a diss, stating, "Sorry Xbots, but everyone knows it’s the TRUTH," comparing the PlayStation-exclusive to famous Xbox shooter Halo. Helldivers 2's Creative Director, Pilestedt, didn't take this as a compliment for his game.
Why compare? Just let gamers love and enjoy both, either or neither. We need more compassion and union in the world, and less rivalry.

He expressed his bafflement at the constant, unnecessary comparisons between seemingly rivalrous games, stating: "Why compare? Just let gamers love and enjoy both, either or neither. We need more compassion and union in the world, and less rivalry."
With that, he likely dealt a blow to the supposed Helldivers 2 fanboy. In his view, healthy competition may be beneficial, but "cut-throat" rivalry doesn't make the world a better place any more than a monopoly does. And with that, he's in good company. Microsoft's Phil Spencer believes that the future of gaming relies less and less on exclusive titles.
While these kinds of comparisons aren't beneficial for the gaming landscape, it's a fact that Xbox players lack access to Helldivers 2. That's why we've compiled a list of Helldivers 2 alternatives for Microsoft's console.
