While various multiplayer games at Sony have been axed recently, and many studios had to deal with layoffs, one game is still in development. Horizon fans can rest easy.
It hasn't looked good for Sony and its upcoming live service games. Multiple projects have been axed and studios working on games have also had to deal with layoffs, meaning development for any live service game would be even harder.
Sure, Helldivers 2 had an insane start and is still going strong with huge player numbers, which just goes to show that live service games can succeed, but not all games have been as lucky. But there is one game that is still in development even amidst layoffs, and that is the Horizon multiplayer game from Guerrilla Games.
Guerrilla Games Still Working On Horizon Multiplayer
Guerrilla Games recently laid off multiple employees, which put the release of an upcoming multiplayer Horizon game in jeopardy. This news came after it was already revealed that a The Last of Us multiplayer game was canned, as well as a co-op Twisted Metal game that will also never get to see the light of day.
Now, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier has revealed that while Guerrilla Games did have to lay off multiple employees, this should not affect the Horizon multiplayer game. This means that the restructuring at the Dutch game studio did not impact the upcoming multiplayer title.

There have also been talks of multiple other Horizon games in the pipelines, but right now there is no official information on which games are still being worked on and which ones have been dropped due to these staff changes at Sony and various Sony Studios.
There is a Horizon-themed MMO in the works which was revealed when Korean developers NCSoft registered a domain which might reveal the name of the MMO. This MMO is rumored to be coming to mobile and PC, hence why it probably wouldn't be affected by the layoffs surrounding Sony.
