Netflix's own Game of Thrones is getting an MMORPG adaptation for Mobile and PC.
It is often referred to as Netflix's own Game of Thrones. In the South-Korean series Arthdal Chronicles, we follow the story of an ancient kingdom named Arth, whose inhabitants find themselves caught between power struggles and love stories. Meanwhile, the character Eun-seom tries to revive his tribe and discover the secrets of his origins.
The series currently consists of 2 seasons and will soon even receive a video game adaptation.
This Is The MMO Based On Arthdal Chronicles
The MMO, set to release on mobile and PC, was already announced in 2022. The trailer showcased the game world of Arthdal Chronicles: Three Fractions, some characters, and a small combat sequences. The game will initially be released in April 2024 in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. A global release is also planned, but has not yet been given a date.
In February 2024, the official YouTube channel of the Netflix series released a series of videos providing further insights into the game.
We got a first look at the character editor, where you can customize your character's gender and appearance. Additionally, you choose your class from warrior, fighter, archer, and priest.
Of course, combat is essential in an MMO. Together with your party, you can fight against huge monsters and strategically utilize your class advantages. Huge raids and dungeons are also part of the game.
But it's not just about PvE combat. In a compilation of developers playing the game, cutscenes, and gameplay sequences, we also see large-scale battles between players.
The images certainly look promising. If you have a weakness for feudal Korea and MMOs, you should definitely keep an eye on this game. It also could be a great way to pass the time until Ghost of Tsushima 2 is released.
