Recently, Midori, who is quite a reliable source in the gaming community, hinted at two new projects in development at Nintendo. Speculation suggests that these projects could be related to the beloved Zelda series and Nintendo Switch Sports.
According to Midori, two more projects are in the works at Nintendo, possibly being related to Zelda & Nintendo Switch Sports by u/DrAwesomeX in GamingLeaksAndRumours
Potential Zelda Remake: "Edward" Codename Stirs Fan Speculation
According to Midori, Nintendo is working on a project codenamed "Edward" that could be related to a new Zelda title or remake. Considering that "Richard" was the codename for the Link's Awakening remake on the Switch, this rumor makes more sense.
User Lizuka noted the potential Zelda remakes, saying, "If it's a remake, I kind of wonder which one they'd go with. The most immediate thought is Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks? It might be hard to sell the Oracle games and Minish Cap on NSO, and Link Between Worlds isn't outdated enough to need more than a port." To be honest, either Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks, which both released for Nintendo DS in the early 2000s, would be great.Adding a touch of humor, user drybones2015 speculated, "Edward from Twilight... Twilight had werewolves... Full Twilight Princess remake confirmed".
Nintendo Switch Sports Sequel Or Update?
Another project, codenamed "Anna," is also said to be in the works. Given that "Elsa" was the codename for Nintendo Switch Sports, there is a strong possibility that "Anna" could be related to a new title or significant update to the sports game.
OP DrAwesomeX wrote: "Can't help but wonder if Nintendo is aiming to make some sort of Nintendo Switch Sports sequel as a launch title (or at least first year drop) for the Switch 2. Like the market is absolutely there, but after how disappointing Switch Sports was, why they'd even try to make another game THIS soon is interesting."Despite the shortcomings of Nintendo Switch Sports, there is potential for a more expansive and engaging sequel. "Sure, I wouldn't mind a Resorts-like sequel, but if we only get another measly 5 sports and another DLC sport that should have been in the base roster like Frisbee Golf, I'm good," OP states, and suggests that a winter-themed version of Wii Sports could offer endless possibilities, such as snowball fights, curling, sledding, figure skating, and more.
