Project 007 is poised to redefine the next-gen gaming landscape as a James Bond adventure. A job listing has shed light on a key aspect of its combat system.
Project 007 is still a mystery. The game is currently being developed by IO Interactive and if the game is anything like Hitman, then it's going to be a pretty fun and unique story.
Of course, we are all too familiar with the source material. Everyone has at least heard of the British super spy or even seen the movies or clips, so there are a few things that will definitely be part of the game. But now a new job posting has hinted at some gameplay as well.
Project 007 Could Bring Back Long Forgotten Game Mechanics
In a game about 007, combat is going to be a key feature. Obviously.
A job posting has given some hints at the combat design and how the game might differentiate itself from others. In the job posting, IO Interactive is looking for a senior-level designer.
Have a passion for and demonstrate expertise in crafting levels with a keen focus on combat scenarios for third-person (or first-person) action-adventure games.
It seems pretty specific to include the "first-person" requirement in the job listing, which has some players wondering if the 007 project will bring back some old features from Treyarch's Quantum of Solace, which featured third-person gameplay, as well as some first-person view at certain moments.
In Quantum of Solace, players were able to play out some parts in third-person, especially during more cinematic moments, like when taking cover or during takedowns, while other parts of the gameplay, especially when aiming, were first-person.
Since the game is also based off a movie, playing around with viewpoint and camera angles could be fun and get players to feel more attached to the characters they're controlling.
Unfortunately, there is no concrete news on Project 007 yet. The game does not have a release date yet. But wouldn't it be perfect to release alongside the next James Bond movie?
