Rockstar recently announced that GTA 5's popular Rockstar Editor will no longer be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.Fans will have to say goodbye to the feature and make sure their projects are backed up before it is removed this February.
Rockstar Removes The Editor In GTA 5 On PS4 & Xbox One
This is according to an official statement on the Rockstar website:
"The Rockstar Editor will no longer be available in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as of February 20, 2024. This change is necessary to allow us to support ongoing updates to these games on both platforms."
This feature allows users to create in-game narratives by editing gameplay clips, adding music and text, and compiling these elements into unique projects. Removing this feature will result in the loss of all associated recordings and projects.

How To Save Your GTA 5 Editor Creations On Last Gen Consoles
If you want to keep your Rockstar Editor creations on your PS4 or Xbox One, you'll need to export them before February 20. Saving directly to your device isn't an option, so you'll have to head over to YouTube for a backup.
Rockstar has provided a way to upload your GTA 5 projects to YouTube, which is outlined in the steps below:
- Open the Rockstar Editor
- Select Video Gallery
- Select the Project you want to Export
- Select Upload to YouTube, then yes
- If no YouTube account has been linked to your Rockstar Games account, then select Yes to continue to link your accounts
- Follow instructions to link your YouTube account to your Rockstar Games account
- Return to game after linking the accounts
- If you agree to the Sharing Policy, select Upload
- Confirm your video title, then the video description, tagging, etc.
