Cheats were an actual thing back in the day when it came to video games, and there were official cheat books you could purchase. Now one of those cheat books has resurfaced for a Reddit user.
Cheats were once a key part of gaming, something which is unthinkable today. Thanks to these cheat codes, players could gain added content and also get help with the game itself. These days, players will go to YouTube for help with their games, but before players usually had to look up cheats for the games when they couldn't figure out the next move.
Some of these cheats were even available for everyone thanks to specific books that could be picked up at stores. Now, one Redditor has found a book like this after cleaning up, causing everyone to reminisce of simpler times.
Redditor Finds Old Cheat Book While Cleaning
Was cleaning some stuff in the house and found this throwback. It sent me down memory lane for a little while. by u/Hass7771 in playstation
A Reddit user gone down memory lane after he discovered an old and mangled book while cleaning up. He posted his find on Reddit, which immediately had long time gamers reminiscing about the times when they got their hands on similar books as well.
Before widespread internet usage, players had to depend on these types of books if they wanted any and all help with the games for older generation consoles like the PlayStation 2.
The Reddit user who posted the images even stated that it's clear that the book was used a lot, since its edges are pretty wrangled by this point. Not to mention the scratched out sexy woman on the back of the book, which got a chuckle out of some other Redditors.
The post had many go down memory lane, noting how they had to earn these books as well, back in the day so they could gain access to hidden content or to help with difficult tasks within the games.
There are probably some cheats you still know by heart, right? Mine is the MotherLoad cheat for The Sims. Can't build a mansion without the funds, right?
