A new Valorant agent is in the works and should be coming to the game with Episode 8 Act 3. This new agent, who goes by Clove, is going to be quite a unique character and unlike anything Valorant fans have seen before.

Valorant has a diverse and unique cast, with two characters even coming out a while back. Now, the newest agent is supposedly going to be non-binary, expanding the Valorant universe further and adding in even more, much-needed, representation.

What Is Non-Binary?

Non-binary is an identity within the gender spectrum that falls outside the traditional categories of male and female. Non-binary individuals may experience their gender as a mix of both, neither, or something entirely different, challenging conventional understandings of gender and often preferring they/them pronouns or others.

New Valorant Agent Clove: Data Mined Information

Riot haven't revealed too much about the new agent just yet. We do know that Clove is going to be a Controller, and some of the ability names have also already been data mined. Though what these abilities really do is yet to be seen.

  • Pick Me Up (C)
  • Meddle (Q)
  • Ruse (E)

Along with these data mines, it was also revealed that Clove is going to be non-binary, and they are going to be from Scotland.

Players are pretty excited about the first ever non-binary character in Valorant, with many excited to test them out, though some do wonder whether Riot is ever going to take the next step and include more transgender representation.

So far, Riot hasn't had a good track record. Only one League of Legends champion was ever designed from the ground up as trans, although this changed over the course of development, and even the original trans design was only ever known about thanks to leaks (Riot never officially confirmed it). So knowing that Clove will be non-binary is already a huge step forward.
