Blizzard has revealed the upcoming roadmap for Cataclysm Classic. The Pre-Patch is set to hit servers on April 30, preparing the world for the Cataclysm. Players can already prepare for the changes that are hitting the map then, plus create Worgen and Goblin characters, test out new talents, learn archaeology as new profession and transmog their characters. New dungeons and zones, though, will only be made available with the launch, which is set for May 20, 2024.
All Cataclysm updates players loved from the original are also being added back into the game with quite an ambitious schedule.
- World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic Pre-Patch – April 30
- Cataclysm Classic Launch – May 20
- Rise of the Zandalari – July
- Rage of the Firelands – October
- Hour of Twilight – January 2025
This would mean that within 7-months the entirety of Cataclysm will have been added to the game. Compare this to previous expansions added to Classic like Wrath of the Lich King — which lasted for 16 months — this is an incredibly tight and ambitious schedule.
Fans are already wondering if Mists of Pandaria, which originally released in 2012 is also going to be added once Cataclysm is over. With how Blizzard has been adding the older expansions into Classic, it is highly likely, but won't it change the point of Classic, which was originally to give players a chance to explore Kalmidor and the Eastern Kingdoms as they originally stood?
