In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth , players travel to Honolulu with the series' iconic characters, Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga. This is no leisure trip for the two former yakuza; they have more serious motives. Ichiban is on a personal quest to find his biological mother, Akane-San, whom he has never met.
Akane-San, seeking refuge from the Yakuza, has fled to Hawaii. Meanwhile, Kiryu, dealing with a recent cancer diagnosis, embarks on one last mission for the Daidoji faction, which happens to include a search for Akane-San.

In addition to many nameless guys you have to beat up in the streets, Kiryu's final boss is Ebina, and Ichiban's final boss is Bryce. Both main characters survive their journey. In an after-credits scene, we see Haruka and Haruto (both known from previous Yakuza games) coming to see Kiryu, who has gotten his name back. Ichiban proposes to Saeko again, who rejects him.
