The official Super Smash Bros. Twitter/X just revealed some new additions for an upcoming event and to everyone's surprise Hades was on the list.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is going to hold a new spirit event in late January, which is going to feature some new characters from other franchises. This will also include Hades, something no one had on their bingo card for 2024 it seems. It's a welcome surprise that has the community pretty excited.

Super Smash Bros. has characters from multiple beloved Nintendo IPs, as well as characters from other, non-Nintendo, games as well. Sonic, Bayonetta and Sora from Kingdom Hearts are some that come to mind. Now, Ultimate revealed new spirits for a Spirit Event will be added as well.
In their announcement tweet it was revealed that characters from Hades, as well as 13 Sentinels and Power Pros will be added as Spirits for the event. This does mean that these characters aren't part of a new DLC with new playable characters, though.
The new Spirit Event is going to kick off on January 26 and will last for five days. However, the exact characters from the three franchises have not been revealed yet. It'll be interesting to know who exactly is going to be added as a Spirit in the coming days.
